CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services

 

Australian Workplace Training offers CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services via our External (E-Learning) delivery mode.

This qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry as community services workers who provide a first point of contact and assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs. At this level, work takes place under direct, regular supervision within clearly defined guidelines.

Occupational titles may include:

  • Case Worker
  • Home Helper
  • Assistant Community Services Worker
  • Personal Care Assistant
  • Care Service Employee
  • Community Services Contact Officer

An interview with a Trainer will be arranged prior to your enrolment. In this interview any difficulty you might experience with your training will be discussed, these may be language, literacy or physical disabilities. If you have any concerns or special needs please discuss them with the trainer during the interview as support could be available for you.

External (E-learning) students study this course at their own pace, however it is anticipated the course will be completed in approximately twelve months, it can be completed earlier depending on the individual.
Students work at home with self-paced units and have access to a trainer either face to face or by phone, fax, correspondence and email for assistance. Students are required to maintain monthly contact with their trainer via phone, email or face to face (please contact reception to arrange an appointment with your trainer).

During the course we will work with you to arrange a suitable venue(s) for work placement. At the end of the course you will be expected to have completed a minimum of 100 hours of work placement to enable the assessment of your ability to implement your training under working conditions. Please discuss this with your trainer at your interview.

Please note that students completing the course through a funded initiative will be required to complete the number of work placement hours nominated in the funding agreement.

This qualification consists of 9 units; 5 core and 4 elective.
Each unit includes the relevant training and assessment materials required to achieve competency

Core Units:
CHCCOM001 Provide first point of contact
CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
BSBWOR202 Organise and complete daily work activities

Elective Units:
CHCCDE003 Work within a community development framework
HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
BSBWOR201 Manage personal stress in the workplace
HLTAID011 Provide first aid

The qualification is achieved by successfully completing all the suggested units.
This can be achieved by participating in training sessions, completing assignments and by demonstrating your ability by putting the learning into practice under working conditions during the work placement.
Skills Recognition is available.

Fee for Service Students:    $1,800

Skills Recognition Costs:
Recognition Prior Learning: $175 per unit
Credit Transfer:                  $25 per unit

Other fees that may be applicable:
DHS Screening check:  Approximately $65.45 for students
Work placement badge: $6
Replacement unit fee:  $25 per unit
Postage of certificate:  $10 (surface mail/untracked)
Postage of items:  Calculated on an individual basis on the weight/size of the item/s to be posted
