This qualification prepares you for a rewarding career supporting individuals, families, and communities to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. Through a combination of classroom learning and practical experience, you’ll develop the confidence and skills to assist people facing social, health, and personal challenges.

Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent), or an Australian AQF Certificate II (or higher) qualification.

Attend a course suitability interview to assess learning support needs, goals, and alignment with community service career outcomes.
Complete a pre-enrolment LLN assessment (such as CSPA or SRNI) to confirm foundational skills for study success.
Before commencing vocational placement, students must provide the required clearances and checks in line with host organisation and sector requirements. (minimum 200 hours)
Demonstrate commitment, self-motivation, and willingness to engage in adult learning, and be prepared to work in diverse and sometimes challenging community service environments.
Have access to a computer or tablet with internet connectivity to complete online learning and assessments through AWT’s Learning Management System (LMS).
