You will learn how to:

Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent), or an Australian AQF Certificate II (or higher) qualification.

Attend a course suitability interview to assess learning support needs, motivation, and alignment with mental health sector outcomes.
Complete a pre-enrolment LLN assessment (such as CSPA or SRNI) to confirm foundational skills for study and workplace learning.
National Police Check
Working with Children Check (WWCC) or DHS Clearance (as required by host organisation)
Evidence of immunisation status (as required by placement site)
Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
Demonstrate empathy, resilience, and a genuine interest in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Be prepared to work in diverse environments, maintain professional boundaries, and uphold confidentiality and ethical practice at all times.
Have access to a computer or tablet with internet connectivity to complete online learning and assessments through AWT’s Learning Management System (LMS).
