COURSE DETAILS
Course Structure:
The certificate consists of 17 units (15 core and 2 elective.)
Each unit includes the relevant training and assessment materials required to achieve competency

CHCECE030 Support inclusion and diversity
CHCECE031 Support children’s health, safety and wellbeing
CHCECE032 Nurture babies and toddlers
CHCECE033 Develop positive and respectful relationships with children
CHCECE034 Use an approved learning framework to guide practice
CHCECE035 Support the holistic learning and development of children
CHCECE036 Provide experiences to support children’s play and learning
CHCECE037 Support children to connect with the natural environment
CHCECE038 Observe children to inform practice
CHCECE054 Encourage understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures
CHCECE055 Meet legal and ethical obligations in children’s education and care

Entry Requirements:
Mode of Study: This course is now delivered in a blended part-time format for 26 weeks which will look like one of the following:
CLASS 1: Monday and Tuesday (in-campus)
CLASS 2: Thursday and Friday (in-campus)
In addition you are required to complete 160 hours work placement which could be organised by us if eligible.
Work Placement:
To be able eligible to receive organised work placement, it is a mandatory requirement from our placement facilities that students will need to have the following (subject to change depending on individual placement partners):
- You must obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC). It is your responsibility to apply for the WWCC and cover any associated costs. This is a mandatory industry requirement.
- Obtained the relevant clearances and screening checks for that facility (eg DHS vulnerable person, Safe Environments for children and young people through their eyes, national police clearance etc)
- Received their annual influenza vaccination, and
- Received at least one dose of a TGA – approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccination; and
- Received, or have evidence of a booking to receive, a second dose of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine within the interval after the first dose; and
- Within four weeks of becoming eligible by ATAGI guidelines, the person receives, or has evidence of a booking to receive, a third dose (booster) of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine.
Successful Completion: To receive the qualification, you must successfully complete all required units. This involves attending training sessions, completing assignments, and demonstrating your skills during the work placement component.
Skills Recognition: Skills Recognition is available. Please discuss this option with your trainer if you have prior experience or qualifications.
