Privacy Policy
How Australian Workplace Training collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information.

Australian Workplace Training PTY LTD (“AWT”, “we”, “us”) is a Registered Training Organisation, RTO 40037. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we handle and why.
Information we collect
- Enquiry information — name, email, phone, the course you are interested in, your preferred campus, and how you heard about us.
- Enrolment information — date of birth, address, citizenship or residency status, prior education, employment status, language and cultural background, and disability or support needs where you choose to tell us.
- Unique Student Identifier (USI) — required by law before we can issue a nationally recognised qualification.
- Training records — attendance, assessment results, work placement records and completion data.
- Website information — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and how you arrived at our site.
How we collect it
Directly from you through enquiry forms on this website, our chatbot, phone calls, appointment bookings, enrolment forms and in person at our campuses. We also collect website information automatically through cookies and similar technologies, described below.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry and help you choose a course.
- To assess eligibility, enrol you, and deliver and assess your training.
- To arrange work placement where your qualification requires it.
- To issue certificates and statements of attainment.
- To meet our legal and regulatory reporting obligations.
- To improve our courses, website and services.
Unique Student Identifier
Under the Student Identifiers Act 2014, we cannot issue you a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment without a verified USI. We collect and verify your USI with the Student Identifiers Registrar, and handle it in accordance with that Act.
National VET data collection
As an RTO we are required to disclose the personal information we collect about you to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER). Your information may be used or disclosed for purposes including issuing your statement of attainment or qualification, populating your authenticated VET transcript, administration of VET, facilitating statistics and research, and understanding the VET market.
NCVER may disclose your information to Commonwealth and State or Territory government departments and authorities, VET regulators and researchers. You may receive an invitation to complete a student survey conducted by NCVER or a agency acting on its behalf; you may opt out at the time of the survey. NCVER's Privacy Policy is available at ncver.edu.au/privacy.
Government funding bodies
If you undertake training subsidised through Skills SA, we are required to provide your enrolment, participation and outcome data to the South Australian Government department responsible for skills and training, for funding administration, audit and reporting.
Website analytics and advertising
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use it and to measure our advertising:
- Google Analytics — aggregated statistics about site usage.
- Google Ads — to measure which ads lead to enquiries, and to show relevant ads.
- Meta Pixel and Conversions API — to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising. Where contact details are shared with Meta for measurement, they are hashed before transmission.
- Customer relationship management — enquiries submitted through this website are recorded in our CRM so a learning consultant can respond.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling them may affect how parts of this site work.
Who we disclose information to
We disclose personal information only where necessary: to NCVER and government departments as described above; to the Student Identifiers Registrar; to our regulator ASQA; to host employers for work placement, limited to what the placement requires; and to service providers who help us operate (for example our student management system, CRM and IT providers), who are bound to protect it. We do not sell your personal information.
Storage and security
We hold records electronically and in hard copy, and take reasonable steps to protect them from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Some providers store data on servers outside Australia; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection. We retain student records for the periods required by the VET Quality Framework and applicable funding agreements.
Accessing and correcting your information
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will explain our reasons if we cannot provide access.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
