COURSE OVERVIEW

Unleash new opportunities in the transport industry with our TLILIC0001 course, your gateway to obtaining a license for transporting dangerous goods by road. Designed to meet the stringent requirements of handling hazardous materials, this course equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to ensure safe and compliant transportation.

This course is for the training associated with the Bulk Dangerous Goods Licence and not the Licence itself. The final Licence is issued by the Competent Authority in the State or Territory that the participant lives in and there is an additional cost payable direct to that Competent Authority.

COURSE DETAILS

Course Structure:

During the course students will complete the following unit: TLILIC0001 Licence to transport dangerous goods by road. This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to obtain a dangerous goods (DG) driver licence to transport DG by road.
This is a mandated 16 hour course. The participant must pass the prescribed written test under the mandated test conditions.

Once Training has been successfully completed the participant must apply to the Competent Authority in their State/Territory for the Dangerous Goods Licence. There will be an additional fee of payable to the Competent Authority.

Achieving this unit of competency is a necessary requirement for obtaining a licence. However, it is only one of several criteria for obtaining a DG driver licence. More information can be sourced from the regulator in each jurisdiction regarding other criteria that apply, which can vary between states and territories.

Driving History:
The Competent Authority in each State/Territory can refuse to issue a Dangerous Goods Licence if a driver’s recent driving history is unsatisfactory. The competent authority make that decision.
Students may wish to discuss their driving record with the Competent Authority in their state/territory prior to enrolling into a course.

  • If a driver licence has been cancelled or suspended during the review period, a dangerous goods licence MAY NOT BE ISSUED. (Review period is 5 years)

Medical Requirement:
A medical examination must be completed by a medical practitioner in accordance with the standards contained in the publication “Medical Examinations of Commercial Vehicle Drivers”.
If a driver has been medically examined to the required standard within 6 months of the application for a Dangerous Goods Licence, there is no need to be re-examined.
